Cher-ae Heights Casino Closure Update
4/4/20

On Thursday, March 19th we made the difficult decision to close our Casino, Sunset Restaurant, Sunrise Grill and the Firewater Lounge for a minimum of a week. We did this for the safety of our guests and employees. We wanted to reduce the possibility of the novel coronavirus spreading into and through our community.

Over the past weeks, we’ve been closely monitoring the developments around the coronavirus. Based on the evolving information we have at this time from local, state and national authorities about the spread of the virus, Cher-Ae Heights Casino has decided to remain closed until further notice.

This includes the Casino, Sunset Restaurant, Sunrise Grill and the Firewater Lounge.

Cher-Ae Heights Casino Gift Shop is open for prepaid purchases and curbside pickup!

  • Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday from Noon to 2:00 pm.
  • We have select medicines, snacks, tobacco & beverages to meet your needs.
  • Call and leave a message with your phone number at 707-238-2328.
  • We will call you back and arrange a time for your curbside pickup on the select days after you have prepaid for your order with a credit card. All sales must be with a credit card, no cash sales. Please stay in your vehicle during curbside pickup.

Seascape Restaurant is still providing take out as well as curbside service upon request.

We will continue to monitor this situation and will provide updates when we have them. Once we feel confident that our employees and guests will be safe, we will make the decision to re-open our doors. We’re continuing to take this situation one day at a time. We are continuing to deep clean the casino. As our guests and friends, you are in our thoughts at this time.

Thank you for your support.

Trinidad Rancheria announces it has declared a State of Emergency and is temporarily suspending operations of the Cher-Ae Heights Casino
3/18/20

The Cher-Ae Heights Indian Community of the Trinidad Rancheria is closely monitoring the COVID-19 global pandemic. The Tribe is working with Tribal, local, state, and federal agencies to reduce the likelihood of the introduction of the virus into our communities. In response to the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis, the Tribe has declared a State of Emergency. It is implementing community mitigation strategies to maintain critical infrastructure, prevent the introduction of COVID-19 into the local community, and slow the spread of the virus. These strategies will include a public health campaign focusing on personal-level actions, social distancing protocols, and protective measures. Tribal Program’s staff will initiate a public health campaign to inform community members about personal actions to be taken to reduce the spread of the virus. These actions include hand-washing techniques, identifying the symptoms of COVID-19, staying home when sick, respiratory etiquette, limiting visitors and movement within the community, telephoning the doctor’s office in advance of a visit, and other important preventative information as it develops.

The Tribal Office will remain open to conduct vital and necessary business. We have implemented remote work protocols where needed, social distancing, and increased sanitation procedures. It has been recommended by Governor Newsom that all elders over 65 or other vulnerable members self-isolate. Programs and services are available to elders and Tribal Members via phone or email requests. Meetings and social gatherings will be canceled or modified as needed to continue operations under current CDC guidelines. The COVID-19 pandemic is an evolving health emergency. It is of utmost importance that the Tribe work to maintain critical infrastructure necessary to continue the operation of the government.

In the wake of events over the past few days, we are choosing to temporarily suspend operations of the Cher-Ae Heights Casino (CHC), Sunset Restaurant, Sunrise Grill, and the Firewater Lounge. We feel this is the best course of action for our community. As of Wednesday, March 18th, CHC Bingo, CHC Table games, and Sunset Restaurant are suspended. The Casino, including slots, the Sunrise Grill, and Firewater Lounge, will temporarily close on Thursday, March 19th, at 2:00 am. We will be closed for a minimum of one week and will re-evaluate closure as necessary.

The Seascape Restaurant will remain open for take-out dining. Please see the restaurant’s Facebook page for more information on how to order and when to pick up.
Throughout the closure, we will keep the public and our Tribal Members updated. Please follow or refer to our social media pages and websites for the most up-to-date information or contact the Tribal Office. The Tribal Council will continue to monitor the COVID-19 outbreak and review health information provided by County, State, Tribal, and Federal public health agencies.

Thank you for your patience and understanding at this time. We appreciate your patronage of our Casino and restaurants, and we will see you soon!

3/14/20

Cher-Ae Heights Casino will continue to keep our guests, employees and community’s health and safety in mind in all that we do.

We are keeping up to date with the changing impacts of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) by continuing to follow the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) as well as local and state guidelines and recommendations to ensure that Cher-Ae Heights Casino remains a safe place for fun and entertainment.

We are continuing to be proactive to address the safety of our guests during this health crisis. We have added some additional measures into our daily housekeeping such as:

  • Cher-Ae Heights has always provided cleansing wipes to all of our players. We are increasing the distribution of the wipes on the casino floor.
  • Cher-Ae Heights has multiple hand sanitizing stations throughout the casino. We are adding additional hand sanitizer stations.
  • Cher-Ae Heights has guidelines for thorough housekeeping practices throughout the casino. We are increasing the frequency of sanitizing and cleaning the casino, ensuring commonly touched surfaces like slot machines, table games, counter space, and chairs are included.
  • Cher-Ae Heights maintains a schedule for the cleaning of our transportation shuttles. Transportation will be sanitizing our shuttles after each route to ensure our guest's safety.

Cher-Ae Heights encourages both guests and employees to be proactive about their health and the safety of those around them by following these simple guidelines recommended by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH):

  • If you are sick, please stay home and plan your visit for a time when you are well and can fully enjoy yourself.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue and discard safely.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Wash hands often with soap and water for a minimum of 20 seconds.
  • Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer regularly when soap and water are not available.

We will continue to put your health and wellness first.
